Rev. Jerry Pitman is scheduled to start as Mt. Olivet's pastor in May.

We invite you to connect with God and grow in faith with us.  Children are more than welcome.  There is a cry room in the rear of the sanctuary, plus a Preschool Nursery during our worship service.  A Children's Church is conducted during worship service, except for the first Sunday of the month, when all gather to celebrate Communion.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Mt. Olivet United Presbyterian Church has a process in place should anyone need a pastor in the event of a personal crisis.  Please contact the church office and we will see to it that you have a local pastor throughout your crisis.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

REVELATION 3:20

 (ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION)

At Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, we come together in worship to praise and glorify God, through Jesus Christ and to experience the love of Christ through Christian fellowship.  As a part of the body of Christ we look to the Holy Spirit to sustain us and to help support, encourage, and enable one another in all areas of the Christian life.  We invite you to join us in study, worship, growth, faith, and service.

These are the items that are most needed right now for the Edgewood Ministerial Assocation Food Pantry:  dish soap, laundry soap, bath soap, and canned meats. Anything at all that helps the needy and hungry is most appreciated.  Thank you!

CHURCH COMMUNITY PRAYER

Members of the Mt. Olivet congregation will be praying in the sanctuary every Wednesday night.  We as a congregation need to be in community prayer, to lift up our church, the governing bodies of the church, and, most importantly,  our Father and Savior.  These times that congregation members have met have been filled with prayer, hope, and faith.

Please consider joining us on Wednesday nights at 8 PM in the sanctuary.  If you cannot join us at this time, please take time at home to pray and meditate, as the Almighty has called us to do.

How great is our God!  Indeed!

Lent is a six-week, or 40 day (excluding Sunday) period of fasing (or any other self-denial) prior to Easter.  The intent of the fast, or self-denial, is to demonstrate penance in preparation for Easter.  As we search our hearts, perhaps we might consider the bright future of Mt. Olivet before us, as we walk with Christ to the Cross.  Can "I" give more than my modest tithe?  Will I?

MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE -

Thursday, April 17th, at 7 PM

Maundy Thursday, also known as "Holy Thursday" is the name given to the day on which Jesus celebrated Passover with His disciples.  It was then that Jesus washed the disciples' feet as an act of humility and service, thereby setting an example that we should love and serve one another in humility (John 13:  3-17).  The word "Maundy" is derived from the Latin word for "command", referring to the command Jesus gave to the disciples at the Last Supper, tha they should love and serve one another. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THE MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE.  Rev. Gretchen Weller will be presiding over the service.
