Three Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) officials came to Mt. Olivet on Sunday, January 25th. Rev. Jerry and our seven Ruling Elders (Mike Adams, Steve Applegate, Paul Huffman, Al Irwin, Deb Kirby, Bonnie Nicely, and Preston Schrock) were interviewed and examined as the leadership and as fair representatives of the membership of Mt. Olivet. Pastor Jerry dedicated weeks of training to every church elder and also many of our membership, learning leadership training and a clear understanding of the EPC as a denomination. The examination on Sunday, January 25th, was a SUCCESS! Mt. Olivet has been invited to join the EPC. This was made official at the EPC Midwest Presbyterian Meeting on February 21st.
At Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, we come together in worship to praise and glorify God, through Jesus Christ and to experience the love of Christ through Christian fellowship. As a part of the body of Christ we look to the Holy Spirit to sustain us and to help support, encourage, and enable one another in all areas of the Christian life. We invite you to join us in study, worship, growth, faith, and service.
CHURCH COMMUNITY PRAYER
Members of the Mt. Olivet congregation will be praying every Wednesday night. We as a congregation need to be in community prayer, to lift up our church, the governing bodies of the church, and, most importantly, our Father and Savior. These times that congregation members have met have been filled with prayer, hope, and faith.
Please consider joining us on Wednesday nights at 8 PM . If you cannot join us at this time, please take time at home to pray and meditate, as the Almighty has called us to do.
How great is our God! Indeed!
IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER OR EMERGENCIES . . .
The Elders of Mt. Olivet have a system in place to notify the congregation should it be necessary to cancel Sunday services due to dangerous weather conditions or other important reasons.
In addition, please tune to Local 12 News (WKRC) for any cancellation notices involving Mt. Olivet.
