Our Congregation has been serving God and His people in Trenton since 1902. Cherishing our rich history, we are growing in faithfulness and service. We are a warm, friendly people, and there is a place for you at Mt. Olivet.
We
believe
that our Great God has revealed Himself to humanity as three: the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The cross of Christ is at the
center of that revelation and it is possible now to have “peace with
God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1) It is God’s
grace given to us in
Jesus that saves, not the things that we do (Ephesians 2: 8-9).
The
Bible is the inspired Word of God and our only rule for faith and
life. Belief in Jesus Christ, and receiving Him as personal savior
is essential for salvation. A changed life is a mark of genuine
faith, and living out the Christian life in our
community is vital to it. We believe that the highest calling of
people is to “glorify God and enjoy Him forever.”
We come together in
worship to praise and glorify God through Jesus Christ, and
experience the love of Christ we share in Christian fellowship. As a
part of the Body of Christ we look to the Holy Spirit to sustain us
and to help us support, encourage, and enable one another in all
areas of the Christian Life.
We invite you to join us in study, worship, growth, faith and service. If you do not know Jesus as Savior and Lord, we’ll introduce you. If you are looking for a church home, we’ll welcome you.
At the age of 14, Chuck Testas felt a call by
God to the ordained ministry. After spending time as a youth worker
in his local church, he received a BA in History and Religion in
1992 and a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Seminary in 1997.
He was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in November of 2002 and
has been serving at Mt. Olivet since that time. He, his wife
Kimberly, and kids Andrew, David, Jonathan, and Ella live in
Trenton.
